1 8 DANCING CLASSICS (J060) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. When questioned regarding the improved performance Trainer C Fownes stated that the horse was advantaged by racing at Happy Valley and also with blinkers being applied for the first time. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 1 CANDLELIGHT DINNER (J468) Sent for sampling post-race.
3 3 BUNTA BABY (J465) From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
4 9 PARENTS' LOVE (H405) No report.
5 5 CALIFORNIA BLITZ (J370) No report.
6 7 DRAGON FOUR SEAS (J317) Bumped near the 300 Metres.
7 11 ROBOT LUCKY STAR (K485) Shifted out at the start and made contact with CASA OF HONOR. Sent for sampling post-race.
8 12 BLUE ILLUSION (K468) Near the 300 Metres shifted out and made contact with DRAGON FOUR SEAS.
9 2 ETERNAL FORTUNE (K010) H Bowman stated that after holding an on-pace position his mount did not change its lead leg from the 800 Metres and in the Home Straight was unable to respond to his riding. Trainer C S Shum advised that ETERNAL FORTUNE, which was racing first up tonight, would derive a fitness benefit from its performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 6 DUKE ATREIDES (L340) Jumped only fairly and then was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Raced ungenerously in the early stages and near the 800 Metres was steadied away from ROBOT LUCKY STAR.
11 10 COPPER CORE (L214) Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
12 4 CASA OF HONOR (K310) Jumped only fairly and then shortly after the start was crowded by ROBOT LUCKY STAR which shifted out and away from CALIFORNIA BLITZ. Making the turn near the 550 Metres shifted out and was steadied away from DUKE ATREIDES. M F Poon reported that after being crowded shortly after the start his mount did not show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position. He said CASA OF HONOR did not travel well during the event and failed to run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
