1 6 YOUNG ARROW (J401) In the early and middle stages raced keenly. Near the 550 Metres got its head up when being steadied to avoid GOLDEN FRIENDSHIP. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 4 LUCKY MCQUEEN (K064) Near the 550 Metres was steadied to avoid GOLDEN FRIENDSHIP which shifted in when being steadied. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 7 WINNING MONEY (J116) No report.
4 11 FORZA LEADER (L034) No report.
5 9 STAR OF HEARTS (L271) Jumped only fairly. Near the 500 Metres was steadied when positioned tight to the inside of YOUNG ARROW.
6 8 GROUPER (L233) Shortly after the start made contact with GENIUS BABY.
7 5 ELEGANT LIFE (J366) Near the 200 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of GOLDEN FRIENDSHIP to continue into clear running. E C W Wong stated that he was instructed to go forward and obtain cover. He said whilst ELEGANT LIFE jumped reasonably well and when a number of runners to his inside showed superior pace he was obliged to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages to avoid covering additional ground.
8 3 ARMOUR WAR EAGLE (J039) ARMOUR WAR EAGLE, which was fractious in the starting gates, made contact with the starting gate on jumping and as a result bounded at the start and lost ground. A Atzeni stated that after losing ground at the start his mount settled back in the field and found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 10 GENIUS BABY (K132) Bumped shortly after the start. K C Leung reported that his mount did not travel well during the event and may appreciate being stepped up in distance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 2 JUICY DRAGON (K405) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
11 12 GOLDEN FRIENDSHIP (K106) Leaving the 600 Metres was steadied when crowded between GRATIFIDE which shifted out slightly and JUICY DRAGON (Apprentice P N Wong) which hung in as it was being corrected by its rider. Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that Apprentice Wong had made an attempt to straighten her mount at this point she was advised in similar circumstances to react quicker than what she did on this occasion.
12 1 GRATIFIDE (K550) R Kingscote reported that he was instructed to go forward. He said after obtaining a position outside the lead GRATIFIDE came under pressure on the Home Turn before giving ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, GRATIFIDE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
