Racing Incident Report

On leaving the gates, KIWI STAR bounded in the air, then just after the start made contact with the hindquarters of STRATEGIC MOVE. About the 900 Metres and again at about the 800 Metres, MALAYAN PEARL got its head up when being steadied behind MILLENNIUM SUPREME. Rounding the latter part of the turn and in the Straight, FULL THROTTLE hung out badly. The horse has a long history of hanging. Mr P F Yiu was told that the performance of the horse in the Straight could not be accepted and before FULL THROTTLE can race again, it will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial around a bend on at least two occasions to the satisfaction of the Stewards and Mr Yiu was further advised that during the trials for approval the horse will have to be placed under pressure. J Egan (FULL THROTTLE) was fined $3,000 for hitting the horse, whilst it was hanging out badly, on two occasions in the vicinity of the head [Instruction 35(iii)]. ETERNAL FUN was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
