Racing Incident Report

CITIZEN KANE jumped awkwardly. SCHUBERT left the gates badly and was then crowded for room between HORSE OF FAME and BILLION WIN. On jumping, ORIENTAL EXPRESS dipped. For some distance near the 600 Metres, BILLION WIN was awkwardly placed behind HORSE OF FAME and on the inside of ORIENTAL EXPRESS. From the early part of the Straight until well after the 200 Metres, BILLION WIN was held up in a pocket behind SPECIAL and just inside the hindquarters of ORIENTAL EXPRESS. BILLION WIN was taken back to avoid SPECIAL which was weakening and was not able to be properly tested out at any stage in the run to the line. In the Straight, HELENE EXPRESS was steadied and shifted out in an endeavour to find clear running. In the run to the winning post, KENWOOD MELODY did not obtain clear running. As a consequence, the horse was not ridden right out to the winning post. KENWOOD MELODY was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
