Racing Incident Report

DON'T MAKE A SCENE was slowly away. KAISER jumped very awkwardly and bumped the inside of its gate. Rounding the Home Turn LIGHT PRINT was awkwardly placed on the heels of PARTIKING. Then about the 200 Metres LIGHT PRINT was unbalanced when crowded for room between QUICK STEP and PARTIKING which shifted out slightly. In the Straight KAISER raced ungenerously and at times put its head on the side. After being checked at about the 200 Metres LEGEND OF WEI HAI which at the time was giving ground was not ridden out to the finish of the race. About the 200 Metres LEGEND OF WEI HAI which was giving ground was checked when crowded by CHIEF IVOR (J Egan) which was today having first race start. CHIEF IVOR had been laying in throughout and at about the 200 Metres was shifted to the inside of FIRST A COUNT which at that time also shifted in slightly. The Stewards after taking into account all the circumstances decided that they should give J Egan the benefit of a grave doubt as to whether he was in breach of the careless riding rule. However he was told a severe reprimand would be recorded against him and it is his responsibility to exercise far more care. LEGEND OF WEI HAI and CHIEF IVOR were sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
