Racing Incident Report

TRUSTY STEED, which was not standing well, was slowly away. WINWIN COMBINATION left the gates awkwardly, shifted out abruptly and bumped PERFECT CHOICE. FLYING KNIGHT left the gates badly and shifted in. HEAVENLY WIND was slowly away. Apprentice K C Tsang (GRACE AND GLORY) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)]. The careless riding being that he permitted his mount to shift in whilst riding it along near the 200 Metres when not clear of CLASSIC CHOICE. As a consequence of this, CLASSIC CHOICE lost the running to which it was rightfully entitled and was checked. Apprentice K C Tsang was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Wednesday 7 November 2001 on which day he may resume race racing (4 Hong Kong race days). Inside the 100 Metres, CLASSIC CHOICE was steadied and shifted in to avoid GRACE AND GLORY which shifted out. Throughout the race, PRETTY BABY had a tendency to lay out. SPOT ON was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon said STERLING CHANCE was making an abnormal breathing noise.
