Racing Incident Report

After being boxed, SMART WINNER became fractious and broke through. Because of this the start was significantly delayed. Acting on veterinary advice, SMART WINNER was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, SMART WINNER will be required to pass an official barrier trial. STARWAY PATROL left the gates awkwardly, shifted out and bumped ASIA RISING. CONJURING was slowly away and just after the start brushed the hindquarters of MERRY MERRY which shifted out slightly. Shortly after the start, THANK HEAVENS was awkward on the heels of ALL THRILLS TOO which was shifting in. About the 200 Metres, HELENE ELEGANCE was steadied when crowded by MERRY MERRY which was taken in slightly by CONJURING. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon said STARWAY PATROL was making an abnormal breathing noise. An endoscopic examination on the horse was carried out which failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
