Racing Incident Report

SMARTY began awkwardly, then lost further ground when crowded for room between MOONGLOW and FUN CRUISER, both of which shifted ground. FASTER FASTER was slow to begin. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, DR HAENSLER was hampered and carried wider by STAR PRODIGY which shifted out when being checked to avoid the heels of DANCING FAITH which itself shifted out when being steadied after being crossed by WITHALLMYHEART. No action was taken. Approaching and passing the 200 Metres, MOONGLOW was held up and unable to improve, then after the 100 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of WYNDAM PLENTY. FASTER FASTER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of FASTER FASTER after the race did not show any significant findings. MOONGLOW and WITHALLMYHEART were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported FUN CRUISER had lost its left front plate.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 9 October 2006)
FASTER FASTER, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. FASTER FASTER was again examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D E Ferraris yesterday morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be mildly lame in the right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, FASTER FASTER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
