Racing Incident Report

From the outside barrier, MASTER ABLE began awkwardly and was then taken across behind runners. On jumping, SOUND OF SILENCE knuckled. After the 1400 Metres, TATTENHALL DELIGHT, which was proving difficult to settle, was steadied away from the heels of SOUND OF SILENCE and then near the 1200 Metres was momentarily awkwardly placed inside the hindquarters of TIRAMISU. At the 250 Metres, KIWI DASH, which commenced to improve towards the outside of TATTENHALL DELIGHT, was checked when disappointed for running between that horse which shifted out and TIRAMISU. As KIWI DASH had not established rightful running, no action was taken. For some distance approaching and passing the 200 Metres, VINCERE had difficulty obtaining clear running. Approaching the winning post, SOUND OF SILENCE (Apprentice C W Wong) got its head on the side and shifted out, causing some inconvenience to JUSTINIAN. Because of this, Apprentice Wong stopped riding with the whip and straightened his mount. TIRAMISU was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of TIRAMISU after the race did not show any significant findings. KIWI DASH and SOUND OF SILENCE were sent for sampling. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on WIN FOR ALL at the request of Trainer D J Hall. The Veterinary Officer reported this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, WIN FOR ALL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
