Racing Incident Report

SUPREME GOLD blundered badly on jumping, resulting in D Whyte, its rider, becoming badly unbalanced in the saddle and losing his right side stirrup which he regained a short distance later. As a consequence, SUPREME GOLD lost a considerable amount of ground and became detached from the field. RAISING SUN was slow to begin and then throughout the race travelled wide and without cover. Shortly after the start, GOLDEN BALL was steadied when crowded for room between MY BOY and DASH, both of which shifted ground. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, ALICE TOO failed to muster speed and near the 1400 Metres was taken across behind runners. Making the first turn, BE GRATEFUL and UPSIDE OF ANGER were crowded for room between DASH which shifted in slightly and SABINA which got its head on the side and shifted out. Passing the 1400 Metres, MY BOY was steadied when crowded for room between BEST NOODLE and BE GRATEFUL which shifted in when awkwardly placed close to the heels of DASH. Approaching and rounding the Home Turn, BE GRATEFUL got its head on the side and hung in. A veterinary inspection of UPSIDE OF ANGER after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, UPSIDE OF ANGER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of SUPREME GOLD, ALICE TOO and MAGIC TURBO after the race did not show any significant findings. DASH, WISE LOVER and HEALTHY BLUEBERRY were sent for sampling.
