Racing Incident Report

UNION`S STAR was slow to begin. W M Lai (UNION`S STAR) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that he permitted his mount to shift out rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight, resulting in JAMESINA being crowded for room and taken out onto OLE OLE which caused both JAMESINA and OLE OLE to become badly unbalanced. W M Lai was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday, 13 December 2010 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was with immediate effect. Throughout the race, MOONWALK travelled wide and without cover. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on VIGOR DELIGHT at the request of Trainer C Fownes. The Veterinary Officer reported that this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse`s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, VIGOR DELIGHT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. VIGOR DELIGHT, WHITE JADE and TRUE INTELLIGENCE were sent for sampling.
