3 1 BABY SAKURA (L230) Shifted out on jumping and made contact with LUCKY BID. L Hewitson (TOP THRONE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 800 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of BABY SAKURA, resulting in BABY SAKURA having to be checked to avoid TOP THRONE. L Hewitson was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 29 April 2026 at Happy Valley. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record. Sent for sampling post-race.
4 9 TOP THRONE (K116) L Hewitson pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 800 Metres (see BABY SAKURA). Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
5 5 FLYING SNIPER (L270) Jumped only fairly, shifted in and was steadied to avoid ELITE GOLF. Near the 800 Metres was steadied to avoid BABY SAKURA. As a result FLYING SNIPER then raced keenly for some distance thereafter.
6 7 LUCKY BID (L274) Bumped at the start.
7 8 SUPER RUBICK KID (L259) Jumped only fairly. Near the 800 Metres was crowded by BABY SAKURA when that runner shifted in when being checked.
8 11 KINGDOM OF RICHES (K079) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 800 Metres was checked to avoid BABY SAKURA. Noted to have bled from both nostrils after the race. Before being allowed to race again, KINGDOM OF RICHES will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
9 3 ISLAND BUDDY (J217) Brushed a rail on entering the track, was examined by the Veterinary Officer on arrival at the Start and passed suitable to race. K Teetan stated that his mount did not show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position and as a result was left racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event. He added that in the Home Straight ISLAND BUDDY failed to respond to his riding. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 12 AQUAMAN (K523) No report.
11 6 HEROIC VANGUARD (L180) No report.
12 4 LO PAN SPIRIT (J233) L Ferraris expressed concern with his mount’s action in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
