Racing Incident Report

1 1 SUNNY Q (J223) For some distance near the 350 Metres was held up behind SPICY SPANGLE. Near the 200 Metres was shifted to the outside of SPICY SPANGLE to continue into clear running. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 13 VON BAER (K198) Lay out when placed under pressure over the final 400 Metres and near the 250 Metres shifted out and made contact with VERBIER. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 2 AUTUMN VIBES (K150) No report.
4 11 DASH (K250) When questioned regarding her mount settling further back in the field than its previous race start Apprentice P N Wong stated that her instructions were to ensure DASH began well but she was asked to obtain a position with cover. She said for this reason in the early stages she allowed VON BAER to shift out and cross DASH to comply with her instructions. Trainer D J Whyte confirmed the instructions and expressed satisfaction with the manner in which the horse was ridden today.
5 4 SPICY SPANGLE (J087) Bumped on jumping.
6 10 SOLAR RIVER (J308) For some distance approaching the 300 Metres was held up behind DIRIYA.
7 7 BEAUTY GEMINI (L129) No report.
8 12 QUICK MONEY (K377) On jumping shifted out and made contact with SPICY SPANGLE. Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that the intention was to be more forward but after making contact with SPICY SPANGLE at the start her mount settled further back than intended. She added that over the concluding stages she was unable to ride her mount out when held up behind DASH.
9 9 CONCORDE STAR (J344) Bumped on jumping. Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when held up behind SPICY SPANGLE.
10 3 MAJESTIC LIFE (L085) Jumped only fairly. Leaving the 100 Metres was eased and shifted to the outside of SOLAR RIVER to continue into clear running.
11 6 VERBIER (J187) Near the 250 Metres was bumped by VON BAER.
12 14 ISLAND BREEZES (J479) On jumping was crowded by DIRIYA which shifted in. A Atzeni stated that his mount did not travel well during the early stages of the race. He added over the final 100 Metres he was unable to ride ISLAND BREEZES out when held up behind CONCORDE STAR. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
13 8 DIRIYA (K282) B Avdulla reported that the instructions were to obtain a position with cover. He said when his mount commenced well it showed superior pace and led without being pressured to do so. He added DIRIYA failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and raced disappointingly. Trainer C H Yip advised that he had not expected the horse to lead and, in his opinion, DIRIYA travelled too strongly in front which resulted in it being left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
14 5 TOPSPIN KING (L141) Jumped only fairly. M L Yeung was warned in respect to using his whip on a horse which was not responding to his riding on one occasion near the 100 Metres.
