2 K175  SPARKLING FELLOW  27/12/2025   300  SPARKLING FELLOW (K175) crowded shortly after the start. For some distance after the 450M raced tight. Between the 300M and the 200M was held up for clear running - Race 300.
3 K116  TOP THRONE  28/09/2025   46  TOP THRONE (K116) after the event rider reported that his mount made a respiratory noise during the running of the race. Following the race found that horse to be a “roarer” - Race 046.
4 K074  YEE CHEONG GLORY  27/12/2025   298  YEE CHEONG GLORY (K074) near the 200M, when giving ground, was bumped on the hindquarters. Rider stated that he was issued with no specific instruction but after commencing well he was able to hold a position outside the lead. He added that in the Home Straight his mount did not respond to his riding and, in his opinion, did not run out the 1400M of the event. Trainer advised that the horse had pleased him leading into the race and could offer no excuse for its disappointing performance. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings. Performance was considered disappointing. Has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and passed an official vet exam - Race 298.
5 K125  SKY CAP  14/01/2026   350  SKY CAP (K125) when questioned rider stated that with blinkers being applied for the first time he was instructed to lead the event. He said as his mount does not possess fast early pace he was obliged to make use of his mount in the early stages to comply with his instructions to cross runners to his inside. He said after entering the Back Straight it commenced to race keenly and he was unable to restrain his mount any further to set a more sustainable pace which resulted in it racing inside of standard time throughout the early and middle stages of the event. When questioned regarding placing his mount under pressure from the 350M rider stated that as it can be one-paced and requires some time to respond to his riding he felt it was the appropriate time to place the horse under pressure despite the fact that it had run inside of standard time throughout the early and middle stages - Race 350.

7 L129  BEAUTY GEMINI  01/01/2026   304  BEAUTY GEMINI (L129) was slow to begin. Rider stated that his mount failed to respond to his riding when under pressure in the Home Straight but could offer no explanation for its disappointing performance other than he indicated that the horse, in his opinion, trialed only fairly when he rode it at its most recent barrier trial on 16 December 2025. Trainer advised that he would look to drop the horse back in distance to race over 1000M for its next race start. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 304.

11 L142  LIVE WIRE  04/01/2026   315  LIVE WIRE (L142) over the concluding stages had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted in. When questioned regarding his riding from near the 300M rider stated that after being crossed by a runner in the early stages he elected to shift to that runner’s outside where he was positioned between that runner and the favourite. He said near the 300M he elected to shift in slightly to follow the favourite as he felt that runner would provide him with the opportunity to improve into the event. He said when the favourite shifted in slightly leaving the 300M and did not respond to its rider’s efforts to improve, he then was required to steady and shift back to the outside of the favourite to obtain clear running. After considering his explanation the Stewards found the tactics adopted by rider were reasonable in the circumstances - Race 315.
