Background:
A former jockey, Yann Barberot retired in 2008 after his riding career was cut short due to a heart attack at only 35 years old. Barberot opted to become a trainer and he celebrated his first winner with his first runner, Sirham, before setting up base permanently in Deauville, where today, he trains 80-plus horses. He trained his first Group 1 winner with Waikika in the 2016 Premio Vittorio di Capua in Italy.
