Background:
Ryo Takei was a student of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Hokkaido University, before enrolling in the JRA’s Horse Racing School Stable Attendant course in 2007. He started his training career in 2014 by taking over the stable of Akihiko Nomura, who reached retirement age. Strauss bought him a first Group race win in the 2023 G2 Tokyo Sports Hai Nisai Stakes. Urban Chic is his stable star at present, winning the 2024 Kikuka Sho.
