Racing Incident Report

HEAVY WEAPON, which was restless after being boxed, missed the start, was then further inconvenienced by UNIVERSAL STAR which on jumping got its head up and shifted in. On jumping, FAT CHOY TOGETHER and DRAGON POWER came together. Near the 400 Metres, THE ESTABLISHMENT was momentarily awkward on the heels of CHIRAG. In the run to the winning post, FULL THROTTLE shifted out. J Egan (ZABETTE) said he had been instructed from a difficult gate to try and ride the horse somewhere just behind the speed. He said however in the early stages of the race he was unable to get in and near the 1600 Metres when the horse was proving difficult to settle, he had to check when momentarily awkward just inside FULL THROTTLE. He said after this he was obliged to travel wide, as the horse was inclined to be over-racing, had he gone forward, he would have been very wide running into the first turn and he said in the circumstances it was unwise to do this and he therefore got much further out of the race than was the intention. He went on to say he was inconvenienced in the Straight by THE ESTABLISHMENT which was taken out by LUCKY SABRE. He said on pulling up the horse whipped around and he was dislodged. After riding in this race, J Egan was examined by the Club's doctor and passed fit to fulfil his further engagements. NIGHT HUNTER was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing. After the race, it was reported that LIKETY WIN had bled from both nostrils.
