Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the barriers, it was noted that FLORAL CHEERS had shifted a plate. Whilst the farrier was working on it, he cut his hand and the work had to be completed by another man. As a consequence of these incidents, the start of the race was considerably delayed. NOBLE BOY jumped awkwardly with its head up. UNIVERSAL BOSS was slowly away and in the middle stages got its head on the side when proving difficult to settle. About the 1400 Metres, NANNING TREASURE, which was being ridden along to maintain its position, became unbalanced when crowded between CHAMPION BOMB which shifted out slightly and IRON TYCOON which shifted in away from JUMBO LUCK. In view of all the circumstances, no action was taken. After this, NANNING TREASURE was ridden along hard in an endeavour to again take up the position between IRON TYCOON and CHAMPION BOMB, but was unable to do so. In the early part of the Straight, CHAMPION BOMB and IRON TYCOON came together due mainly to CHAMPION BOMB endeavouring to shift out. Also in the early part of the Straight, DRAGON WIN was steadied and shifted out to avoid GOLDEN BULLET. E Legrix (SKY'S THE LIMIT) said in his opinion there was something wrong with the horse in the Straight, therefore he did not ride it out. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that SKY'S THE LIMIT was bleeding from both nostrils and was displaying signs of an irregular heart beat. Before racing again, SKY'S THE LIMIT will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and will be subject to an official veterinary examination. Following the race, it was noted that DRAGON WIN was bleeding from the mouth as a result of loosing a tooth.
