Racing Incident Report
After being boxed, CLASSA WIN became fractious and got down. The horse was released from the gates and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who then decided CLASSA WIN was suitable to race. Before CLASSA WIN can race again, the horse will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial (stalls test). Also after being boxed, PRECISION became fractious, reared and momentarily got a leg over a partition. PRECISION was released from the gates, trotted up and the Veterinary Surgeon then decided the horse was suitable to race. Before racing again, PRECISION will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial (stalls test). When the gates opened, RUN AND WIN bounded in the air. ARROGANCE was slowly away. TAI PO FRIEND left the gates awkwardly and shifted in abruptly towards LION ROCK which also left the gates badly and shifted in abruptly, as a consequence of this, PRECISION was crowded onto HENNESSY STAR and checked. Just after the start, EXCELLENCE FOREVER and PO ON WIN bumped. Because of this, EXCELLENCE FOREVER was badly unbalanced and shifted out abruptly. About the 200 Metres, PRECISION became unbalanced when crowded between SUPREME STAR and MR PRESIDENT which shifted out. Also about the 200 Metres, when hit with the whip in the right hand, RUN AND WIN became unbalanced and shifted out. Because of this, A Marcus stopped riding and changed his whip hand. During the event, TAI PO FRIEND raced ungenerously with its head up and several times shifted ground. Throughout the race, PO ON WIN hung out. When asked about the disappointing performance of SUPREME STAR, D Whyte said he had worked the horse once on the grass before today's race and that work in his opinion was very good. He said today however even before mounting he was aware that SUPREME STAR was sweating up badly, then after mounting the horse and all the way to the Start he found it impossible to settle SUPREME STAR down, and after being loaded the horse continued to be restless. He said SUPREME STAR jumped well, but then only travelled nicely for the first 200 Metres and shortly after that was a beaten horse. He added that throughout the race SUPREME STAR hung in. SUPREME STAR was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that LION ROCK was bleeding from the near nostril. He said a subsequent endoscopic examination satisfied him that LION ROCK should not be deemed to have suffered a bleeding attack.
