Racing Incident Report
WINNING PLEASURE missed the start and was then inconvenienced when crowded between OCEAN ACROSS and SNIPPEDYDOODA, both of which shifted ground. PRECISION left the gates awkwardly. METRO FLYER was slow to jump, then hung out throughout. In the middle stages, HEART'S CONTENT raced ungenerously and was unbalanced. J Egan (OCEAN ACROSS) explained the horse left the gates a little awkwardly, shifted some ground, then despite his hard riding was unable to keep up and got well back, however, OCEAN ACROSS did make continuous ground right to the line and finished the race off well. He said before the event the connections were concerned that the race today might be too short for OCEAN ACROSS, but with so many first starters involved, they did consider the horse to be a good chance. J Egan did say the breeding of OCEAN ACROSS suggested that the horse should show pace in its races, but this was certainly not the case today and it seems as though OCEAN ACROSS is looking for more ground. After the race, it was noted that OCEAN ACROSS had lost its off side front plate. OCEAN ACROSS was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
