Racing Incident Report

On arriving at the track, it was noted that POWER OF SUCCESS had spread its near side front plate. The horse was re-plated, trotted up and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who advised in his opinion the horse was suitable to race. Before the race, GOLDCHIN BEST lost its off side front plate in the main stabling area. It was also noted that whilst in the saddling area GOLDCHIN BEST had broken its near side hind plate. Both matters were attended to. The horse was trotted up and in the opinion of the Veterinary Surgeon suitable to race. Before the race, WAVY WAVE lost its near side front plate. This was refitted. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and he said WAVY WAVE was suitable to race. When the gates opened, WAVY WAVE bounded in the air. CLEMENT FORTUNE jumped awkwardly, then for some distance in the early stages was awkward between MISSION SEALED and POWER OF SUCCESS and running to the first turn was unbalanced when steadied from the heels of POWER OF SUCCESS, then approaching and rounding the Home Turn again raced ungenerously with its head up, hung out and about the 400 Metres stumbled. POWER OF SUCCESS made the first turn awkwardly with its head up and hung out, then continued to hang out along the Back Straight and rounding the Home Turn hung out badly. MISSION SEALED and POWER OF SUCCESS were sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
