Racing Incident Report

HIGH SKY missed the start. In the Straight the first time, MALAYAN PEARL, which was pulling, got its head up and shifted ground. Some inconvenience was caused to STRATEGIC MOVE which was following and to a lesser extent to CUPID. About the 600 Metres, CUPID was steadied when momentarily awkward just inside the heels of SUPER SPLENDID. About the 500 Metres, STRATEGIC MOVE became unbalanced when awkwardly placed on the heels of MALAYAN PEARL. Rounding the Home Turn, SILLERENT hung out. GUSCOTT, which had a tendency to be laying out throughout, made the latter part of the Home Turn very awkwardly, shifted out, clipped the heels of MAJESTIC WARRIOR and knuckled. The occurrence in the opinion of the Stewards was accidental. About the 200 Metres, SUPER SPLENDID and MALAYAN PEARL brushed. Near the winning post, SUPER SPLENDID and CUPID came together. Whilst the Stewards considered the riding of W M Lai (MAJESTIC WARRIOR) in the run to the line did not affect the horse's finishing position and accordingly a breach of Rule 100(2) did not occur, they did however advise W M Lai he must continue riding all mounts out at least hands and heels right to the end of the race whenever possible. SILLERENT was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
