Racing Incident Report

BIA DESERT, which was not standing well, had its head turned slightly to the near side, bounded in the air when the gates opened and as a consequence lost considerable ground. MILLENNIUM SUPREME was slowly away. On jumping, GRANDIOSO got its head up, shifted in and bumped COURAGE STAR. NORTHERN FLYER left the gates awkwardly. Just after the start, ISLAND WEST TREBLE was steadied to avoid the heels of NORTHERN FLYER which was taken in by HUANGDI which shifted when only just clear. About the 1200 Metres, MILLENNIUM SUPREME, which had a tendency to be pulling, was unbalanced and close to the heels of BIA DESERT. For a short distance after the 600 Metres, GRANDIOSO was awkwardly placed behind NORTHERN FLYER and tight inside LOMOND'S FAY. Approaching and rounding the Home Turn, EASTERN MAGNATE had a tendency to lay out. About the 300 Metres, LOMOND'S FAY, which was giving ground, was steadied when tightened between SOMLUCK and GRANDIOSO which shifted out to go forward. Also about the 300 Metres, HUANGDI shifted out when disappointed for running between HOW FLUKE and VICTORY MARBLE. As a consequence of this, ST ALANN, which had been endeavouring to find running, also was shifted out. This caused some inconvenience to MILLENNIUM SUPREME. In view of all the circumstances, no action was taken. After this, to find running, ST ALANN continued shifting out, then near the winning post Apprentice M W Leung dropped his near side rein. GRANDIOSO was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
