Racing Incident Report

ELECTRONIC UNICORN jumped awkwardly, bumped the inside of its stall. MASTER FAY also came out awkwardly, bumped the side of its gate and just after the start made contact with SOLID CONTACT which was taken out slightly by CHAMP DE UNION. KENWOOD MELODY was slowly away. When asked about the performance of PRIME WITNESS, D Dunn said the horse had been ridden back at Happy Valley at its last start and the intention was to try and ride it similarly today. He went on to say since the Happy Valley run he has been riding PRIME WITNESS in a lot of its work. He said this has been good and the horse looked well going into the race today. He said PRIME WITNESS jumped well, he then took hold of the horse in an endeavour to get back in the race and in the early stages PRIME WITNESS settled satisfactorily. He said however in the middle stages PRIME WITNESS when tight between CITIZEN KANE and STARWAY PATROL started to over-race and got close to the heels of WINNING COUNTER. He said on several occasions he was bumped between STARWAY PATROL and CITIZEN KANE, but this should not have had a great impact on the horse's run. He said he shifted out near the 500 Metres to try and go forward and at this stage he felt PRIME WITNESS was going to close the race off well. He said however PRIME WITNESS after getting into the clear only travelled as expected for a short distance and was well beaten over the concluding stages, generally in his opinion the run of the horse was very disappointing. When PRIME WITNESS shifted out near the 500 Metres, it made contact with CITIZEN KANE and obliged that horse to race wider. PRIME WITNESS was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
