Racing Incident Report
On the way to the Start, F Coetzee was dislodged from ENERGETIC PRINCE. ENERGETIC PRINCE then made contact with the rail several times. After arriving at the Start, the horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and after the necessary consultation ENERGETIC PRINCE was passed suitable to race. GANBARIA STAR left the gates very awkwardly with its head up. TIM'S TONIC missed the start slightly, was then checked rather severely when crowded between CITY FORTUNE which on jumping shifted out and GOLDEN BELL which on leaving the gates with its head up shifted in. The occurrence in the opinion of the Stewards was accidental. SMILEY WIN was slowly away. Near the 800 Metres, GANBARIA STAR lost ground when unable to hold its position between PERFECT MOMENT and TIM'S TONIC. In the middle stages, HAPPY ECLIPSE pulled very hard and for some distance was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CITY FORTUNE. Whilst HAPPY ECLIPSE was pulling and shifting ground, it made contact several times with ENERGETIC PRINCE. For some distance near the 600 Metres, TIM'S TONIC was awkwardly placed between the hindquarters of TOP PRACTITIONER and GOLDEN BELL. Then in the Straight, TIM'S TONIC was inclined to hang in. Approaching and rounding the Home Turn, CASH hung out. In the run to the line, CITY FORTUNE was awkwardly placed and as a consequence not ridden right out. Also in the run to the line, ENERGETIC PRINCE hung in. R Fradd (CITY FORTUNE) said during the race the horse made some abnormal noises with its breathing and on pulling up he noticed the horse had its tongue over the bit.
