Racing Incident Report
Just on straightening, CLASSIC MASTER shifted out to find running and made contact with BOBO DUCK which was giving ground. Shortly after this, BOBO DUCK, which was dropping out quickly, steadied when crowded between CLASSIC MASTER and ACROBATIC. Just after the 200 Metres, J Egan (CLASSIC MASTER) dropped his whip. On two occasions about 100 Metres out, MILLENNIUM SUPREME attempted to savage RED ZONE. The Stewards will interview Mr A S Cruz, trainer of MILLENNIUM SUPREME, regarding the matter. Whilst the issue is being considered, entries of MILLENNIUM SUPREME will be refused. When questioned, B Marcus (MY HEART) said the horse has been racing in a disappointing way of recent times. He had trialed it on two occasions, one at Sha Tin which was not satisfactory, the last time he trialed the horse was at Happy Valley where it was dropped out and finished the trial off quite nicely. It was therefore decided to ride the horse from back tonight in the hope that its form would improve. He said however at no stage did MY HEART travel as hoped and made little or no ground over the concluding stages. The explanations submitted by B Marcus were accepted. D Dunn (BOBO DUCK) said he had ridden the horse in some of its work in recent times and he considered this to be satisfactory. He said BOBO DUCK travelled fairly towards the front, about the 200 Metres when crowded for room commenced to give ground and in the run to the winning post the horse dropped right out and he was convinced something had gone wrong with it. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon said he was unable to detect any abnormalities. Before racing again, BOBO DUCK will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CLASSIC MASTER and BOBO DUCK were sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
