Racing Incident Report

When the gates opened, RECOGNITION and TRULY HAPPY bounded in the air. As a consequence of this, both horses lost ground. On jumping, TREMENDOUS WAY and HAPPY FORTUNE came together. From the outside gate, FORTUNE GLORY was steadied on jumping to take up a position at the rear but close to the rail. Turning out of the Straight the first time, KINGDOM OF GOLD was steadied when crowded by FRUITFUL TRIP which in turn was racing tight inside CYBER GULCH. In the middle stages, due mainly to the pace, a number of runners pulled, the main ones were SUPER SPLENDID and HAPPY FORTUNE. In the Straight, THE ONLY HERO hung out. Over about the last 100 Metres, FRUITFUL TRIP was not able to obtain running, as a consequence of this the horse was not ridden out to the line in the normal fashion. In the run to the winning post, HAPPY FORTUNE shifted in, this caused some inconvenience to OPTIC CHIEF and as a consequence the horse was not ridden right to the line in the normal fashion. After the race, it was noted BRILLIANT LEADER had lost its off side front plate.
