Racing Incident Report
On the way to the Parade Ring, FAVOURITE EXPRESS became upset and fell on the rubber pavement. Before being saddled, FAVOURITE EXPRESS was trotted up, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and after the necessary consultations he said in his opinion the horse was suitable to race. HAPPY CHAMP was slowly away. TOYMARK left the gates a little awkwardly, shifted ground and brushed SCHOLARSHIP. In the early stages, GALLANT HORSE proved somewhat difficult to settle and on several occasions got its head up. Approaching the 200 Metres, TELECOM BABE was momentarily held up behind VICTORY MASTER. About 100 Metres out, MEDIC CORPS, which was giving ground, was unbalanced, initially shifted in away from SCHOOL DAYS, brushed the hindquarters of FAVOURITE EXPRESS, was then slightly tightened by CHEEKY as it shifted to the inside of SCHOOL DAYS to go forward. MEDIC CORPS was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing. After the race, it was reported that BORN TO WIN was bleeding from both nostrils.
