Racing Incident Report

On jumping, TAMBORA STAR and HAPPY HARVEST were tightened for room between BY INSTINCT which had a tendency to shift in and FLAGS UP which on jumping shifted out. HOSSEGOR left the gates awkwardly and threw its head about. Near the winning post the first time, HANDSOME MAN was steadied when crowded for room between BY INSTINCT and ETERNAL FUN which was momentarily taken in by ALL THE GLORY. No action was taken. In the early part of the Straight, MONEY COLT was steadied and shifted out abruptly across the heels of JAMIESON to find running and go forward. S Dye (TAMBORA STAR) said in the middle stages the horse raced tight inside HAPPY HARVEST which itself was racing tight inside ETERNAL FUN, had its head on the side and was laying in away from ALL THE GLORY. S Dye said he had to ride hard to try and maintain his position, TAMBORA STAR was reluctant to race in a tight position he found himself and after the 800 Metres he had to steady. He said shortly after this TAMBORA STAR made abnormal noises with its breathing, he was not sure whether the horse had swallowed some dirt or had a more serious problem and accordingly for a short distance he eased up and tried to establish whether TAMBORA STAR was bleeding. Before TAMBORA STAR can race again, it will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. After the race, W Woods (HOSSEGOR) said the horse had pulled up sore. The Veterinary Surgeon said he examined HOSSEGOR and whilst the horse was being trotted up it did stumble, but in his opinion was not obviously lame.
