Racing Incident Report

VICTORY WARRIOR left the gates very awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of SMART WINNER. On jumping, STARWAY PATROL and THE KING OF CLOYNE bumped. About the 200 Metres, LOYAL DEVOTION was tightened when crowded between WISHMASTER which was stopping and RED ZONE which was shifting in slightly. In the Straight, HELENE ELEGANCE had a tendency to lay out. When asked about the disappointing performance of WISHMASTER, D Whyte said the horse was well going into the race and it was expected to perform well. He said WISHMASTER was a little sluggish from the gates, but he rode along to go forward as was the intention. He said he thought WISHMASTER travelled well in a forward position, but shortly after straightening when put under pressure the horse became unbalanced in the ground and dropped out, and was generally very disappointing. He said in his opinion the poor run could be attributed entirely to the horse's inability to handle tonight's going. Before being allowed to race again, WISHMASTER will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. WISHMASTER was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing. After the race, it was reported that STARWAY PATROL had lost its off side front plate.
