Racing Incident Report

On jumping, HANDBAG DRAGON and SNIPPEDYDOODA bumped. In the early stages, V-CAN pulled and proved somewhat difficult to settle. Near the 800 Metres, SPRING FOUNTAIN threw its head about when pulling and racing close to the heels of HUANGDI. After the 800 Metres, VICTORY WARRIOR was unbalanced when close to the heels of GIFT. For some distance near the 200 Metres, ISLAND WEST TREBLE, which was making some ground, was held up behind ZIETENGO BOY. After the 200 Metres, HUANGDI and AMBITIOUS TYCOON were unbalanced when crowded for room between HANDBAG DRAGON and SPRING FOUNTAIN which got its head on the side and shifted in away from MASCOT TREASURE. In the circumstances, no action was taken. Apprentice S K Sit (MASCOT TREASURE) said the trainer had told him it was anticipated pace in the race would be strong and if possible he should ride MASCOT TREASURE somewhere in about 4th or 5th position with cover. He said running to the first turn he raced away from the lead, but was not able to get in, was obliged to race wide throughout and was not able to find any cover. CROCKER was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing. After the race, it was noted GIFT had lost its off hind plate.
