Racing Incident Report

On the way to the Start, SMILING FOREST became unbalanced and stumbled. After arriving at the gates, the horse was trotted up and following the necessary consultations the Veterinary Surgeon said in his opinion the horse was suitable to race. On jumping, NICE MEMORIES and LUCKY SUPERSTAR were momentarily crowded between HORNET which shifted out and STOIC which shifted in. On leaving the gates, TELECOM PRINCE and KIMBER bumped. About the 800 Metres, MILLENNIUM SUPREME shifted out from behind ME AND YOU, raced tight inside NICE MEMORIES, then just after the 600 Metres was steadied when crowded between NICE MEMORIES and ME AND YOU which shifted from behind STOIC. For some distance near the 500 Metres, STOIC was awkwardly placed behind HORNET which was giving ground. Running towards the Home Turn, ME AND YOU raced awkwardly between NICE MEMORIES and HORNET which when giving ground was taken out slightly by COME SEE YOU which shifted from behind SPLENDID PATROL. After the 400 Metres, TELECOM PRINCE was checked to avoid the heels of LUCKY SUPERSTAR (H K Yim) which shifted in to avoid HORNET. Because of the circumstances involved, no action was taken, but H K Yim was reprimanded and told when in similar circumstances he must exercise more care. Just after straightening, LUCKY SUPERSTAR was steadied and shifted out when disappointed for running inside ALL THE GLORY. For some distance rounding the latter part of the Home Turn, SMILING FOREST was held up behind HORNET. HORNET was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
