Racing Incident Report

GOLDEN FARM was withdrawn on 4.6.02 on veterinary grounds (lame off fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter KING CONFIDENT (B Fayd'herbe). Before being permitted to race again, GOLDEN FARM will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. CORAJOSO left the gates awkwardly, shifted out abruptly and bumped SHINING CROWN. As a consequence of this, SHINING CROWN momentarily lost its footing behind. S Dye (SNIPPETYIYEA) said from a good gate he had anticipated following GOLDEN AIR through the run. He said SNIPPETYIYEA was standing well, but when the gates opened the horse dwelt and because of this lost ground. He then rode along in an endeavour to take up a position behind GOLDEN AIR, but was disappointed for running at about the 1000 Metres when TRUST ME shifted across to be following GOLDEN AIR when only just clear of SNIPPETYIYEA. He did say after this even though back a little further than expected, he enjoyed a good run in the race and in the Straight although SNIPPETYIYEA did make some ground, it did not quicken as he hoped it would. The explanations submitted were accepted. SNIPPETYIYEA was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
