Racing Incident Report

FUTURES ENDEAVOUR was withdrawn on 8.6.02 on veterinary grounds (bruised off fore foot). Before FUTURES ENDEAVOUR can race again, it must pass an official veterinary examination. When the gates opened, SELF FLIT bounded in the air. HOROSCOPE was slowly away. BEST FOR ALL jumped somewhat awkwardly. At about the 800 Metres, KING CONFIDENT was checked when crowded for room between NAMJONG SPIRIT, which shifted to a position behind NEW FACE, and SELF FLIT which was taken out slightly by TOP LIGHT which shifted some ground when avoiding GREEN CENTURY. When KING CONFIDENT checked, inconvenience was also caused to KONRAD THE GREAT. After the 800 Metres, when BEST FOR ALL steadied in front, inconvenience was caused to GREEN CENTURY which when being steadied threw its head about. As a consequence of this, some trouble was caused to TOP LIGHT which was following. W C Marwing (SELF FLIT) said the horse was initially reluctant to take a run after the 300 Metres between STRONGHEART and NEW FACE. He said when taking this run, SELF FLIT was inclined to lay in and race close beside STRONGHEART, because of this he changed the whip into his right hand. He went on to say however after clearing STRONGHEART, SELF FLIT then became unbalanced, wanted to lay out and proved difficult for him to ride to the line in his normal fashion. SELF FLIT was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
