Racing Incident Report
After arriving at the Start, W C Marwing (ASIA RISING) said the horse had not worked down as well as it should. He requested it be examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. The Veterinary Surgeon had the horse trotted up and following the necessary consultations it was decided ASIA RISING was suitable to race. About the 700 Metres, GOLDEN YEARS shifted out from behind EASTERN PURPLE. As a consequence of this, some inconvenience was caused to ESPRESSO. Apprentice M W Leung (ESPRESSO) said in the Straight the horse was not stretching out as he thought it should and was continually unbalanced. Because of this he did not ride ESPRESSO out to the finish as he normally would. DR MORE and ESPRESSO were sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing. After the race, it was reported ESPRESSO was bleeding from both nostrils.
