Racing Incident Report
Before being presented in the Parade Ring, KING CONFIDENT had its left front plate refitted. After being boxed, ENERGY VITALITY became fractious, reared and momentarily had its right side front leg over a partition. ENERGY VITALITY was released from the stalls and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion the horse was suitable to race. Before ENERGY VITALITY can race again, it will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. COMPANION left the gates very awkwardly and bumped the inside of its stall. As a consequence of this, E Legrix was momentarily unbalanced in the saddle and the horse got well back. On jumping, GRAND FIGHTER and GOLD RICE BOWL came together. BACK SEAT DRIVER left the gates awkwardly, shifted out and bumped BRILLIANT ATTORNEY. After the race, C Williams (INTERVENE) said in his opinion the horse was not stretching as it should. A subsequent veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. EVER MORE and HIDDEN DRAGON were sent for sampling.
Dr Stewart reported today that INTERVENE, which was examined after the race revealing no significant abnormalities, was today quite sore with jarring up of both front legs. Before INTERVENE can race again, it will be required to pass an official veterinary examination.
