Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the course, it was noted XLERATE had shifted both front plates. These were refitted. The horse was examined and passed suitable to race. Whilst being submitted to the race day weighing procedure, FAST TRACK became upset and got its left hind leg over a partition. The Veterinary Officer examined FAST TRACK. He said the horse was lame in its left hind leg and was not suitable to race. Accordingly FAST TRACK was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before the horse can race again, it will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. It was noted that OVER SUBSCRIBE was walking somewhat short in front during the parade. After arriving at the Start, OVER SUBSCRIBE was trotted up, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and after the necessary consultations was passed suitable to race. LION ROCK left the gates somewhat awkwardly and threw its head about. On jumping, PROFIT TREASURE was crowded for room between XLERATE which shifted in after being bumped by ALLEZ ALLEZ and MISSION POSSIBLE which shifted out away from AMERICAN DEVIL. About the 1300 Metres, LION ROCK was checked when tightened by NAMJONG HEART which had a tendency to shift in away from MISSION POSSIBLE which also shifted in slightly when racing close to the heels of OVER SUBSCRIBE. In view of all the circumstances, no action was taken. Near the 400 Metres, XLERATE, which was racing ungenerously, was checked when disappointed for running between MISSION POSSIBLE and BRAVISSIMO. The occurrence was accidental. Then in the run to the winning post, XLERATE continued to race ungenerously, got its head on the side, lay in and was difficult to ride right out. Just after straightening, PROFIT TREASURE was unbalanced when close to the heels of AMERICAN DEVIL which was weakening. Then again near the 200 Metres, PROFIT TREASURE was steadied when disappointed for running between LION ROCK and OVER SUBSCRIBE. As a consequence of these incidents, PROFIT TREASURE was not ridden to the finish in the normal fashion. After the 200 Metres, ALLEZ ALLEZ, which was closing off quite strongly, was steadied and shifted out abruptly when disappointed for running inside SWEETIE which was weakening. After this, ALLEZ ALLEZ was again shifted out abruptly across the heels of NAMJONG HEART. OVER SUBSCRIBE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, OVER SUBSCRIBE was examined. No abnormalities detected. EVER GLORY and LION ROCK were sent for sampling.
