Racing Incident Report
BY INSTINCT left the gates very awkwardly and bumped the outside of its starting stall, because of this got well back, then was obliged to race wide and without any cover. D Whyte added at no stage of the race in his opinion was the horse comfortable in tonight's going. Near the winning post the first time, DIAMOND AND GOLD was checked when crowded between DOLBRIDGE and VIPER CORP which was taken in by GOOD NEWS. GOOD NEWS was shifted in when ALBELA got its head on the side and shifted in away from SOLAR EMPIRE (W M Lai) which was crossing to the front when barely clear. Because of the circumstances, the Stewards were of the opinion it was inappropriate to take any direct action, but W M Lai was told he should ride with far more care than this. About the 500 Metres, DANEHILL WARRIOR shifted out and endeavoured to go forward, in doing so brushed COUNTRY DRAGON. SOLAR EMPIRE and DANEHILL WARRIOR were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted DIAMOND AND GOLD had lost its left front plate.
