Racing Incident Report

KEEN MARSHAL, which was standing with its head turned slightly to the right side, left the gates awkwardly. NEW PLANET was slowly away. Turning out of the Straight the first time, HAPPY FORTUNE and THISTLEJADE bumped. GOOD FIT, which was outside THISTLEJADE, was unbalanced and steadied to take up a position at the rear but on the rail. About the 400 Metres, THE FACULTY, which was starting to give ground, was steadied and became unbalanced when crowded by PRINCELY HORSE which was being ridden along and shifted in slightly away from THISTLEJADE. Also about the 400 Metres, GOOD FIT was unbalanced when momentarily held up for running between JUST TOO GOOD and RISING INDEX. E Legrix (MONZA KING) explained in his opinion the way in which the race was run today did not suit MONZA KING. He said the horse is a strong stayer and today when the field sprinted after the 800 Metres, MONZA KING was left somewhat flat-footed, but did close the race off quite well. O Doleuze (GOOD FIT) was reprimanded for a celebratory gesture prior to the finishing line. He was told he should curtail this at least until after the winning post. KEEN MARSHAL was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. After the race, KEEN MARSHAL was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No abnormalities were detected. GOOD FIT and HIGH SKY were sent for sampling.
