Racing Incident Report
W C Marwing (HOLY QUEST) was fined $2,000 for being late into the Parade Ring. O REI, TUMBLER and UNIVERSAL FLAIR were slow to begin. Making the turn at the 700 Metres, ACCLAMATION hung out. At the 600 Metres, TUMBLER was awkwardly placed between WHATA FEELING and MAXIMUM JOY which shifted out slightly. At the 400 Metres, UNIVERSAL FLAIR was steadied when momentarily crowded for room by GO GET THEM which improved inside the heels of MAXIMUM JOY when there was barely sufficient room. G Mossé (PRETTY TRIO) explained the horse is immature and he was aware at its last run on 1 October 2002 when unbalanced in the race, the horse had struck itself. He said PRETTY TRIO today was slow to begin, raced in a rearward position as expected and hung out making the turn at the 700 Metres. He said on straightening he placed PRETTY TRIO under hands and heels pressure in an endeavour to ensure it was properly balanced before pulling the whip at about the 200 Metres. He said PRETTY TRIO found the line nicely and in his opinion will be better suited over races of a further distance than the 1200 Metres of today. MAXIMUM JOY, HOLY QUEST and WINNING PARADE were sent for sampling.
