Racing Incident Report

When being saddled, CHAMPION WINNER shifted its right front plate. This plate was reset before CHAMPION WINNER entered the Parade Ring. AMOUR, which was fractious after being boxed, began awkwardly. LUCKY PARADISE began awkwardly and then was bumped by THE GRAND ROOF which shifted in. For some distance after this, THE GRAND ROOF and LUCKY PARADISE raced tight and came together on several occasions. KING OF SPADES was slow to begin. From a barrier towards the outside, GOLD RICE BOWL was immediately steadied and shifted across behind runners to the rail. In the early stages, WINNING SUNSHINE and GOLDEN CHOICE proved difficult to settle. At the 800 Metres, THE GRAND ROOF got its head up when close to the heels of LUCKY PARADISE and HIN YUEN'S UNICORN. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, AMOUR hung out and shifted ground. This caused some inconvenience to KING OF SPADES. AMOUR then raced greenly in the Straight. LUCKY PARADISE and THE GRAND ROOF were sent for sampling. E Saint-Martin reported following the race he noted THE GRAND ROOF had its tongue over the bit. After the race, it was reported GOLD RICE BOWL was bleeding from both nostrils. Following the race, GOLDEN CHOICE was noted to be making an abnormal breathing noise. The horse has previously been reported as a "roarer". Before GOLDEN CHOICE can race again, it will be required to pass an official veterinary examination.
