Racing Incident Report

When the gates opened, NO COMPROMISE reared and lost a considerable amount of ground. NO COMPROMISE then tailed out. The performance of NO COMPROMISE was considered unacceptable. Before the horse will be permitted to race again, it must perform competitively in an official barrier trial and will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. RARE was slow to begin. CITI CENTRE began awkwardly and shifted out. BRILLIANT EXPRESS, which was standing with its head turned to the left side, was slow to begin. At the 100 Metres, PORTER RICKS was struck across the head by the whip of S Dye (KINGSTON WINNER). Near the winning post, TABBRIS was checked and shifted out when crowded for room between HANDBAG DRAGON which shifted in and KINGSTON WINNER which was taken out by PORTER RICKS which in turn was carried wider by MAJOR BEE. In the circumstances, no action was taken. Throughout the race, MAJOR BEE hung out. NO COMPROMISE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, NO COMPROMISE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No abnormalities were detected. SUPER BROSE and MAJOR BEE were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Report (released on 4 Feb. 2003) :
The Senior Veterinary Officer today again examined NO COMPROMISE at the stables of Trainer K L Man. This examination showed the horse to have mild shin soreness in both front legs.
As previously reported, before NO COMPROMISE can race again, it will be required to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
