Racing Incident Report

ASIA RISING was slow to begin. On jumping, MEDIC CORPS began awkwardly and shifted out. This caused some inconvenience to CHINOOK. HELENE MOMENTUM, which was standing badly, began awkwardly and bumped the inside of its barrier. In the early and middle stages, THE DUKE, which was proving difficult to settle, got its head up on a number of occasions. At the 600 Metres, MY HONOUR was unable to hold its position inside the hindquarters of TRIUMPHANT MASTER and outside ASIA RISING. After the 400 Metres, SHANGHAI KING was unable to obtain clear running between CHINOOK and STRONG SCOTCH, at about the 300 Metres was shifted to the outside of STRONG SCOTCH, was again disappointed for running between that horse and SIROCCO and at the 200 Metres was shifted to the outside of SIROCCO to obtain a clear run. For some distance near the 300 Metres, THE DUKE had difficulty obtaining clear running between CHINOOK and TRIUMPHANT MASTER. At the 100 Metres, STRONG SCOTCH, which was giving ground, was steadied when momentarily crowded between MEDIC CORPS and SIROCCO, both of which shifted ground. MY HONOUR was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, MY HONOUR was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He reported the horse had a mild pharyngeal collapse and was lame in the left hind leg. Before being permitted to race again, MY HONOUR will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. GEM OF INDIA, HELENE MOMENTUM and VICTORY MARBLE were sent for sampling.
