Racing Incident Report
After being loaded, MY FAVOURITE became fractious, reared, sat down behind and turned around in the gates. During this incident, B Prebble, its rider, sustained an injury to his right leg. MY FAVOURITE was removed from the gates and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion the horse was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of MY FAVOURITE. The start of this race was delayed while B Prebble received medical treatment on the track. Before MY FAVOURITE can race again, it will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. On jumping, WISE CHOICE blundered and nearly fell, causing E Legrix, its rider, to become badly unbalanced and almost be dislodged. FORTUNE DANCER began awkwardly and bounded in the air. At the 1600 Metres, SONGS OF PRAISE was steadied away from the heels of PRINCE GOLF which itself steadied. For some distance after the 500 Metres, PRODIGY was held up and unable to obtain clear running to the inside of SALUZI and behind EARL GREY. On the latter part of the Home Turn, SONGS OF PRAISE was held up and unable to obtain clear running between FOOD LOVER and PRINCE GOLF. To obtain a clear run after straightening, SONGS OF PRAISE was shifted to the inside of PRINCE GOLF. For some distance after the 300 Metres, FORTUNE DANCER was held up and unable to obtain clear running inside SONGS OF PRAISE. Near the 200 Metres, ON THE TEE, which was having difficulty obtaining clear running, was steadied and shifted out to avoid the heels of PRINCE GOLF which was giving ground. WISE CHOICE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, WISE CHOICE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No significant findings were made. SALUZI, SONGS OF PRAISE and EARL GREY were sent for sampling.
