Racing Incident Report

On jumping, TIME TO SURF, which began awkwardly, was checked when crowded for room between TALK OF THE TOWN and EXCELLENCE FOREVER which was carried out by MILLENNIUMTREASURE which on jumping shifted out abruptly. Near the 800 Metres, FORTUNE GLORY clipped the heels of TALK OF THE TOWN and blundered. On the latter part of the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight, BEST EVER was held up and unable to obtain clear running behind SPECTACULAR WIN and inside the heels of OPTIC DYNAMIC. After straightening, BEST EVER was checked when disappointed for running between these two horses and then remained held up for running until after the 200 Metres. In the early part of the Straight, TRULY HAPPY had difficulty obtaining clear running. At the 250 Metres, MILLENNIUMTREASURE, which was giving ground, was checked when momentarily crowded for room between OPTIC DYNAMIC which shifted out slightly after bumping with SPECTACULAR WIN and LUCKY FRIENDS (B Prebble) which shifted in. In the circumstances, it was decided B Prebble should be severely reprimanded and advised to exercise more care. Near the 200 Metres, LUCKY FRIENDS was steadied away from the heels of SPECTACULAR WIN after being carried out by MILLENNIUMTREASURE which when making the turn hung out. EXCELLENCE FOREVER was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, EXCELLENCE FOREVER was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No significant findings were made. SPEED WINNER and LUCKY FRIENDS were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted OPTIC DYNAMIC had lost its right fore plate.
