Racing Incident Report

VISORHILL was slow to begin. Near the 2200 Metres, CHEERS HONG KONG got its head up when being steadied to avoid the heels of RAINBOW AND GOLD which shifted in when only just clear. For some distance after this, CHEERS HONG KONG proved difficult to settle and near the 1800 Metres shifted out and bumped RIVER DANCER. In the early stages, HELENE VITALITY proved difficult to settle. At the 800 Metres, VISORHILL was checked when crowded for room by HELENE VITALITY which was taken in slightly by CELEBRATION (H K Yim) which became unbalanced and momentarily shifted in. The Stewards were satisfied H K Yim had made the necessary effort to prevent this crowding and therefore no action was taken. At the 600 Metres, LUCKSWELL was crowded for room between SURVEYOR and CHEERS HONG KONG which was endeavouring to shift out to go forward. On straightening, CHEERS HONG KONG was steadied when disappointed for running between LUCKSWELL and HELENE VITALITY which was giving ground. Also on straightening, RIVER DANCER was bumped on several occasions by SUPREME RABBIT which shifted to the outside of CELEBRATION to obtain clear running. After the 200 Metres, VISORHILL was momentarily steadied when tight between SNOWSTORM and SUPREME RABBIT which shifted in slightly. RAINBOW AND GOLD was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, RAINBOW AND GOLD was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, RAINBOW AND GOLD will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. RIVER DANCER, SUPREME RABBIT and IDOL were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted RIVER DANCER had lost its right front plate.
