Racing Incident Report
GALLANT KNIGHT, second Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 20.6.03 on veterinary grounds (inappetence). THUNDER STORM began awkwardly and lost ground at the start. Shortly after the start, COMMANDER CHARLIE was steadied away from the heels of MAN OF HONOUR after being bumped by SIROCCO. At the 1500 Metres, COMMANDER CHARLIE was momentarily steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of NORTHERN GOLD BALL. At the 1000 Metres, FREEBIRD was steadied when crowded for room between LOYAL DEVOTION and SURVEYOR. For a short distance after the 300 Metres, COMMANDER CHARLIE had difficulty obtaining clear running between FREEBIRD and LOYAL DEVOTION. After the 200 Metres, THUNDER STORM was steadied when crowed for room by ASIA RISING which momentarily shifted in while giving ground. NORTHERN GOLD BALL, MULTIWINNING and MAN OF HONOUR were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted COMMANDER CHARLIE had lost its left front plate.
