Racing Incident Report

When being saddled, it was noted FLORAL KING had shifted its left front plate. This plate was refitted. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. After being boxed, KEY TO SUCCESS became very fractious, reared, sat down behind and had its left fore leg caught over the barrier partition. The horse was removed from the barrier and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion KEY TO SUCCESS was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered KEY TO SUCCESS be withdrawn. Before racing again, KEY TO SUCCESS will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. After the race, KEY TO SUCCESS was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse had sustained minor abrasions to its forehead and left fore cannon. SUPER SPRINT and INDUSTRIAL PRIDE were slow to begin. On jumping, FLORAL KING was bumped by MAGICAL LOT which was taken out by GRAND FIGHTER. At the 800 Metres, FLORAL KING was steadied when crowded for room by MAGICAL LOT which momentarily shifted in. For some distance after straightening, AMAZING was unable to obtain clear running between GRAND FIGHTER and MARANELLO. To obtain clear running after the 200 Metres, AMAZING was shifted to the outside of EPIC ENTERPRISE. At the 100 Metres, LOVE ON EARTH was momentarily steadied away from the heels of SUPER SPRINT which was taken out slightly by AMAZING. Throughout the race, LOVE ON EARTH raced wide and without cover. SUPER SPRINT was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of SUPER SPRINT after the race did not show any significant findings. AMAZING, EPIC ENTERPRISE and MARANELLO were sent for sampling.
