Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the Start, TRIUMPHANT GLORY was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. The horse was trotted up and after the necessary consultations was considered suitable to race. Also after arriving at the Start, it was noted the tongue tie on STRONGHEART had loosened. This was refitted before the horse was boxed. TOY QUEST was slow to begin. When the gates opened, DAVE'S BEST bounded in the air and lost ground. From a gate towards the outside, SPINNING CITY, which was to be ridden in a rearward position today, was immediately steadied and then proved very difficult to settle in the early stages. In the early stages, RECOVERY, which had been steadied to find cover, got its head up and proved difficult to settle. Approaching the turn at the 800 Metres, LIFELINE EXPRESS, which was hanging in, was ridden along in an endeavour to clear runners to its inside, was unable to do so, was then shifted out and raced four wide outside the lead without cover. At the 300 Metres, DAVE'S BEST was steadied when disappointed for running between SPINNING CITY and LIFELINE EXPRESS which shifted out slightly when giving ground. Over the concluding stages, WEALTHY TREASURE got its head on the side and shifted out. Throughout the race, DILIGENT raced wide and without cover. R Fradd (SNIPPETYIYEA) said after travelling wide throughout the race, shortly after straightening he felt STRONGHEART was going to shift out and cause him to lose his running on the inside of DILIGENT, he therefore elected to immediately steady his mount. He said after this SNIPPETYIYEA did not respond to his riding and near the 200 Metres he was again momentarily awkwardly positioned outside the heels of SPINNING CITY. SNIPPETYIYEA was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, SNIPPETYIYEA was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No significant findings were made. WEALTHY TREASURE and TRIUMPHANT MASTER were sent for sampling.
