Racing Incident Report

ALL DONE was withdrawn on 19.9.03 on veterinary grounds (lame right fore foot) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter TRIPLE EXPRESSO (A Delpech). Before racing again, ALL DONE will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. After arriving at the saddling stalls, it was noted GREAT DELIGHT had shifted its right hind plate. This plate was reset. GREAT DELIGHT was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse was suitable to race. TRIPLE EXPRESSO began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped GALLANT KNIGHT which in turn shifted ground and bumped FIGURES. As the gates opened, ONE STEP AHEAD put its head down and was slow to begin. Near the 800 Metres, GALLANT KNIGHT was steadied when momentarily crowded for room between FIGURES and PLANET RULER. After the 200 Metres, FIGURES, which was giving ground, was momentarily steadied away from the heels of PLANET RULER. Over the concluding stages, PLANET RULER shifted out. This caused some inconvenience to GENERAL KINGY which as a result was not ridden out to the line as it normally would be. Whilst the Stewards were satisfied the riding of A Delpech over the concluding stages did not affect the horse's placing, he nevertheless was reminded of his responsibility to ride his horses out at least hands and heels to the line wherever possible. FIGURES was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. GREAT DELIGHT was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. A veterinary examination of both FIGURES and GREAT DELIGHT after the race did not show any significant findings. ANABATIK and PLANET RULER were sent for sampling.
